Meet the Founder: Why Blue Otter Aquatics is More Than Just a Pool Service

When people ask me how I got into the pool service business, I usually start by saying that water has been my life for as long as I can remember. But the real story of Blue Otter Aquatics isn't just about my background. It's about family, community, and turning a lifelong passion into something that serves others.

A Life in the Water

My relationship with water began early. I was that kid who lived at the local pool, eventually joining my high school swim team and water polo team. The pool wasn't just where I exercised. It was where I learned discipline, teamwork, and the value of consistent effort. Those lessons stuck with me long after my competitive days ended.

After high school, I naturally gravitated toward jobs that kept me around water. I spent years as a lifeguard at various swimming pools and even worked at a water park. Later, I became a swim instructor, teaching kids the basics of water safety and swimming techniques. Some of my most rewarding years were spent as a beach patrol lifeguard, where the stakes were higher and attention to detail wasn't just important. It was critical for people's safety.

Through all these experiences, one thing became crystal clear: water quality and safety aren't just technical requirements. They're what allows families to create memories, kids to learn confidence, and communities to come together.

The Family Decision

When my family and I started discussing the idea of Blue Otter Aquatics, it wasn't just about starting another business. We saw an opportunity to bring something different to the Fort Worth area. A pool service that truly understands water from every angle. Not just the chemistry and maintenance, but the safety standards that come from years of professional lifeguarding, and the attention to detail that competitive swimming teaches you.

Our mascot, Otty the otter, represents more than just a cute face for the brand. Otters are naturally expert swimmers who keep their environment clean and safe. They're playful but purposeful, social but skilled. That's exactly the approach we wanted to bring to pool care in North Texas.

Why This Matters to Your Family

Every pool I service, I see through the eyes of someone who has spent countless hours responsible for water safety. When I test your water chemistry, I'm thinking about the swim lessons that might happen in that pool. When I check your equipment, I'm considering the family barbecues and birthday parties that depend on everything working perfectly.

Having been a swim instructor, I know how quickly kids can go from hesitant to confident in the water, but only when that water is properly maintained and safe. As a former lifeguard, I understand that proper water balance isn't just about comfort. It's about creating an environment where families can focus on fun instead of worrying about safety.
